Overview:

Better Discord App is a deprecated branch that enhances the Discord desktop app with new features. It offers various features such as adding Twitch.tv, FrankerFaceZ, and BetterTTV emotes to Discord, a quick emote menu for easily adding emotes, automatic capitalization and autocomplete for emotes, a minimal mode to make elements smaller and hide certain elements, voice chat mode, public server listing, custom CSS support, custom themes, plugins, and the ability to save chat logs locally.

• Emotes: Better Discord App adds all Twitch.tv, most FrankerFaceZ, and BetterTTV emotes to Discord.
• Quick Emote Menu: A menu for quickly adding Twitch emotes and favorite emotes.
• Emote Autocapitalize: Automatically capitalizes Twitch.tv global emotes.
• Emote Autocomplete: Automatically completes/suggests emotes. (coming soon)
• Minimal Mode: Makes elements smaller and hides certain elements.
• Voice Chat Mode: Only displays voice channels.
• Public Servers: Provides a public server listing using DiscordServers.com.

Installation:

To install Better Discord App, you can follow the steps below:

Windows Universal Installer:

1. Download the latest installer from the releases page.
2. Follow the installation instructions.
3. Make sure you have .NET 4.0 installed. If not, you can download it from here.

Windows Installer users:

1. Download asar.net from here and place it in the same folder as the installer.
2. Download the latest package from the releases page.
3. Run the installer.
4. If you don’t have node installed, download the binaries and place them in the same folder as the installer.
5. The installer uses asar and wrench, which are bundled with the installer.

Manual Installation:

1. Extract app.asar.
2. Add BetterDiscord as a dependency.
3. Add init to Discord load event.
4. Move BetterDiscord to node_modules.
