Overview:

The Tolgee platform is introduced as an open-source alternative to Crowdin, Phrase, or Lokalise. It boasts features aimed at simplifying the localization process, including in-context translating, one-click screenshots, deep integrations, machine translation support, translation memory, and more. By enabling users to efficiently manage translations and collaborate on projects, Tolgee aims to streamline localization efforts and save time.

Features:

  • In-context Translating & One Click Screenshots: Easily modify strings directly within the app without the need for editing large files. One-click screenshots with highlighted phrases for quick translation.
  • Translating on Production: Translate your app in the production environment using the Tolgee Tools Chrome plugin, allowing non-developers to contribute to translations.
  • True Integrations: Tolgee is deeply integrated into your app via SDKs, offering seamless integration without just syncing data with the backend.
  • Machine Translation Support: Utilize DeepL, Google Translate, and AWS Translate for faster localization. Choose your preferred service in the settings.
  • Translation Memory: Get suggestions based on previously used translations to streamline the localization process.
  • Auto Translation: Automatically translate new keys using translation memory or machine translation services for immediate translation upon creation.
  • Activity Log: Track modifications, reviews, and comments made on translations within your project.

Installation:

  1. Clone the Tolgee repository from GitHub:
git clone https://github.com/tolgee/tolgee.git
  1. Install dependencies using npm:
